As a writer, I’m used to sitting alone in my office, isolated from my surroundings as I try to string words and ideas together to tell a story. But I also love telling those stories to people face to face. Kids in particular inspire me with their curiosity and their excitement. There’s nothing like the energy level in a room full of fifth graders trying to fathom the motivation of a 43-year-old woman who decided to plunge over Niagara Falls in a barrel.

Over the years, I’ve spoken at scores of schools, libraries, colleges, and conferences. I’ve given keynote addresses at sports team dinners and participated in panels on cable TV. I usually speak about sports, or women’s history, or writing—but I can tailor my presentations to your needs.
